What your child builds

A day at the fair. Sprout has 10 pretend coins in a purse and 20 on a card. At four stalls, your child pays with coins, taps the card, or skips. Coins fly away where you can see them. Card money just goes, so they check the card and keep a receipt. At the end, the Big Wheel costs 8 coins, card only. Is there enough left?

Three editions: Popcorn at the Fun Fair, luqaimat at the Winter Fair, or bhel puri at the mela.

What they learn

  • Tapping a card is real money
  • The same price, coins or card
  • Checking what's left, and reading a receipt
  • Declined: when there isn't enough
  • Lists that grow: a receipt
  • Clones that fly
  • Glide there and back
  • Two endings

For grown-ups

See where money goes when you tap to pay. Every pack ends with a section for you: what your child learned in each build, and questions to keep the conversation going.

“When we tap a card, where does the money come from?”

“How can we find out what's left on a card?”

“What does our last receipt tell us?”
